so, i went back and forth (and back and forth) on the N.H. in the main guitar riff, until finally settling on what you see here. i came to this conclusion after trying to discern what they were playing in live videos, which as far as i could tell, looked as though they were doing chromatically (fretwise) descending N.H. from around the 5th fret. it sounds accurate enough, i guess, but it's hard - for me at least - to get that sort of stuff perfect when there's multitonal shit going on, with various octaves and intervals clouding the exact pitch(es).

THE SOLO. this is... as close as i (or likely anyone else) could care to get it. the ultimate feeling is really all that matters, which is to say: absolute fucking chaos. i'm guessing this was a one-take deal, it's the last solo of the album, so they likely just went nuts. it works very well, imo. also, this is obviously based only on the studio version; they change it up a LOT and improvise on the live tracks i listened to, usually playing more simplified pentatonic stuff in F minor or whatever.

lastly, there is, of course, two rhythm tracks, but i could not discern any channel-wise difference between them (other than tone), so i did not bother splitting it. it's not like double-tracking really makes a difference with sampled playback, anyway.
