Here Justin is hammering on the notes with one hand and turning the volume knob with the other one. All this with a thick Fuzz, Delay, Auto-Wah and a Whammy (1 oct up) on. The Auto-Wah gives the extra treble while the delay gives the impression that the notes are sorta "colliding". - Thanks to Mandalic for that one ;) Here's a link to my tab for Jambi, where Adam also uses the technique.
