Quite a pop feeling to this song ... there was a very good reddition of the solo spot (alone) previously posted which I have re-used this version. Not sure what to tab next ... Kree Nakoorie or too young to die, too drunk to live ? any preference anyone ? Comments from Wes Craven: ISLAND IN THE SUN [3.54] The opening track is very commercial sounding with prominent keyboards and restrained playing from Malmsteen. In fact it wouldn't have sounded out of place on Rainbow's 'Down To Earth'. The feel is similar to that of Bon Jovi's 'Runaway' but the lyrics are slightly more up-beat. The solo is brief and fits the track well and overall a solid opener. They named it the rock, land of the living dead
A repose for the rich and famous
All the infamous would tell each other's lies
Why did they want to tell the truth
On an island in the sun
Cool Pacific winds blow
Most were poets and they wrote in basic prose
On the walls of their sunset blvd.
In their nine by five rooms, became inspired
By the silence in sight of the city
[Chorus]
On an island in the sun
Cool Pacific winds blow
Just across the bay
Battered by the waves
[Chorus]
Key change
Two Sailawena's
[Chorus]
