There's a big difference between video game-inspired metal and actual "video game metal". Machinae Supremacy proves that difference, owning the title with an 8-bit power metal onslaught that sounds like it could have been the symphonic soundtrack to your favorite ‘80s Nintendo game. Hailing from Sweden, Machinae Supremacy have quickly risen up the ranks over the course of the last decade, amassing a global fanbase. Their webography, a free music catalog on their website, has racked up over 10 million downloads and counting, to date.
After releasing several independent albums and following with five albums released through international metal label Spinefarm Records, Machinae Supremacy have taken matters back into their own hands with the upcoming release of their new album, Into The Night World, hitting stores on December 16th via their own Hubnester Records, in collaboration with Swedish music company BD Pop. Preorders will be available via iTunes soon.
Vocalist Robert Stjärnström states, "Going back to being independent has truly sparked our creativity and energized us in the most amazing way. Into The Night World is in some ways more simplistic than our last album, but somehow it manages to be both more playful and more sophisticated. There is still a story, but all of that is encapsulated in pure, straight-forward songs, each with its own separate, parallel meaning and purpose."
