Home Grown doesn't take the title of their second album, Act Your Age, to heart. The Orange County quartet's very modus operandi is staying teenagers for as long as possible. That means there's no discernible musical growth between their debut That's Business and Act Your Age, but the group nevertheless still has fun -- and they can convey that to listeners through their infectious punk-pop. There's not much originality on the album, but there doesn't need to be -- Home Grown has a bratty charm and a way with a hook which makes them ingratiating over the course of an album.
