“The Veronicas” (previously known as “Life On Mars“, “The Awakening” and “You and Me“) is the upcoming self-titled third studio album by Australian pop duo The Veronicas formed by idential twins Jessica and Lisa Origliasso.
The album, which cites influences by classical music, classical rock and pop genres, will be their first release in over five years and is due to be put on sale on digital retailers on November 21, 2014.
Jessica Origliasso stated that the album will be inspired by artists The Subways, The Dead Weather, Mazzy Star, Ladytron and Peaches. They have described the album as “a little different from the last two records, a pop record with different undertones”
The lead single from the album is the song “You Ruin Me“, premiered on Australian radio on September 11th. It was released on iTunes on September 19th.
During a Twitter Q&A, Jessica and Lisa confirmed some details of the upcoming release. They have everything they wrote under Warner Music, and some songs appear on the new album including “Cold” and “Did You Miss Me?“. The track featured on “You Ruin Me” video teaser called “Line of Fire” could be released as a countdown single alongside the pre-order of the album on iTunes.
The album is described as “Uncensored”, the standard edition consists of 14 tracks and they have confirmed that there will be a deluxe edition with some bonus tracks. The Veronicas also confirmed upcoming tour in 2015.
